Past Work: Jackets & Kimono
Large/Extra Large red and black Chinese Jacket with mandarin collar and frog side-closures. Leafy branch pattern. Black body, front and back. Contrasting red sleeves and collar. Lined with a lightweight black cotton. The body is short, just skimming the hips. The sleeves are 3/4 length. The black and the red are the same fabric reversed. The black threads are shinier than the red, and the black side is not a pure black - the red threads affect the color a bit. The red is a tomato-red, not as orange as it may appear in the bottom photo.
Large/Extra Large unstructured unlined swing jacket. Reversible. Rayon. I adapted the pattern for this jacket from a pattern for a robe. Very comfortable. Wisteria design. The black neckband is visible either way the jacket is worn. I used French seams and stitched them down flat, as seen in the close-up photo.
