Caeli was home here in Massachusetts on Labor Day weekend for the New England edition of her bridal shower, hosted at the historic Newman compound by the ever gracious and insanely creative Newmans themselves.While Caeli was here, she got to try on the lining of the dress and meet Bertha, who was very short when she was not standing on top of a couple of Yellow Pages. Caeli and Bertha, together at last!
Happy to report that the lining fit. I constructed the other two layers, and brought the whole thing down with me to Ohio on the Tuesday before the wedding. We did a couple more fittings, constructed the sleeves and got the final length for the hems. I finished the dress on the Friday afternoon before the wedding.
