To Caeli:
The mock-up dresses finally came back to me in the mail. I had had a bit of a panic! I kept meaning to photograph the organza, but here it is, finally. Thought you'd like to have a look:
Here it is, draped all over Bertha. She might not want to part with it.
And here it is up close. Scanned with a dark blue paper behind it. I think this will look lovely.
I bought ivory satin last night. I splurged on a nicer one to go just under the organza, and bought a very lightweight lining for the bottom layer. Problem is, that they only had white, and I don't think you want a bit of white lining peeking out from under the ivory satin. I think that I can use the fabric from the original satin mockup to trim a wide band around the bottom of the bottom-most lining, and perhaps even make it ruffle a little so that it can add to the flare and also cover the white. I will start work again soon, but my sewing room has no a/c and this heat just knocks me out! We have time, though!
98 degrees here today, ladies and gentlemen. Not right. Not right at all...
